Forum: forums Subject: Upload Fail and Share Query

Two things:

1) today, when I upload an audio file, ANY audio file, and click on the Share My Item button, I get the error "no files seem to have been uploaded" ??

2) when will we get the option of inserting our audio cuts into our own collections? My cuts, which have always gone into my collection "92.9 KICK-FM" are now going into "open Source Audio" and I seem to have no choice in the matter.

Thanks,

Rick

so the uploading of files *does* work, but just at time of button submit punching, it gives you that error?

what browser/OS?

I get exactly the same message each time I have tried to do this over the past ten days. I'm using windows xp. Thank you for any help on this. File size doesn't seem to make any difference, nor type of file. I've tried .avi, .doc, and .pdf and get the same message on all.

Thank you!

maybe something is blocking your uploads?

i suggest this.
try uploading 1 small (JPEG) test file using the normal [share] button
and path it suggests.

if you see the progress bar go to the end and say the file is uploaded,
wait for that, and then reload the page, and re-move over the [share]
button. if your file *did* indeed make it to our server, it will automatically show you the page you saw before w/ the file listed as uploaded near the very top (semi small print). if so, good news, the file made it up at least.

knowing whether the file is *actually* making it to us or not will be very helpful. i can suggest another server for you to upload and me to watch to try to diagnose this further after this...

I am having the exact same problem with large files. I tried the experiment you describe here and the file is not making it to your server. I have uploaded dozens of large files before with no problems. If you have a different server to try please advise.

I tried it yet again early this morning and it worked. This time, anyway!

see the (star)-ed note when you are filling out the metadata/info
(title, keywords, etc.)
and read it to see how to click to be able to pick your own
collection at the time of uploading
(you are using the flash-based/standard uploader, right?)
